The app comes with an Message Filtering extension. Whenever you receive a SMS from an unknown number, if you have chosen the app to do the filtering in the system settings, Apple will forward it to the app and allow it to classify this SMS into several categories. Owly uses AI to identify spams, promotions as well as transactional messages.
Please note that if the message is from a number in your contact list or a number with which you have sent at least 3 messages to, then the app will not be used to process it.

No. Your messages are only read and processed for the purpose of classifying. Once it's done, the SMS will be removed from our system.
Please note that we do use 3rd party platform in order to improve the filtering accuracy. Your message might be used to train the AI model. However, the original content will not be retained. And there is no way to link the message back to you. From the system's point of view, all SMS are agnostic.
The free plan comes with a limited daily quota. And it also limits the length of the message to be processed.
At the time of writing, the free plan comes with a limit of 1 message per day. After that, any messages from an unknown source will not be processed thus be received as usual.
